Whittier, Fuller & Co., a paint and varnish company located in San Francisco, California, was formed January 1, 1868 by William Parma Fuller (1827-1890) and a former competitior, William Franklin Whittier (1832-1919), the surviving partner of Cameron, Whittier & Co. The merger made it the largest company dealing in paints, oils and glass on the Pacific coast and was the predecessor firm to W.P. Fuller & Co. of San Francisco that had its origins in the pioneer firm of Fuller and Heather which began in 1857 in Sacramento. W.P. Fuller & Co. was bought by the O'Brien Corporation in the 1970's and became known as Fuller O'Brien Paints and, in turn, was sold in 1995 to ICI Paints.
